This fabulous antique Edwardian Suffragette necklace was made Circa 1910. The piece is made up of wonderful festoon chains with multiple droppers decorated with Amethysts, Peridots and Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
An extravagant piece fashioned in 15ct Yellow Gold. It is fitted with two safety clasps with an extension of chain in the middle which can be removed to shorten the chain if needed.
